Sometimes your staff work appointments on the day after a pay cycle is completed but they are linked to the current pay cycle and need to be exported. Examples of this are an active appointment that backs onto a passive sleepover (Sleepover from 10pm on last day of pay cycle that finishes at 6am and is followed by 2 hours of active work from 6-8am or overnight work where a staff member might finish an appointment at 11:45pm on the last day and have another they are traveling to that starts at 12:15am)

These appointments should be paid in the current pay cycle and not only are effected by the previous shifts but they themselves can effect the following appointments in the next shift period if they are not paid correctly.

If this effects your business then you need to run the Eziplan payroll preview for an extra day. eg if the pay cycle is Monday to Sunday, run the preview for Monday to Monday. You will then need to:

  • check off all appointments at the top of the preview
  • run down each staff member and find the ones with work on the last Monday.
  • decide which appointments are linked the the last shift period of the pay cycle and which are attached to the first shift period of the next pay cycle and uncheck the appointments that do not link to the pay cycle being exported.

This will allow Ezipay to correctly apply the award interpretation to your timesheets.
